Happy Birthday

Yesterday was the official public birth of Pinecone Turkey and The Flock Email, and I almost didn’t do it, because truthfully, it’s not as good as I’d like it to be, and I am also more than a little scared.

I had asked over the last nine months various people if they would join The 100. The 100 was my name for the first group of fans for the site that would proselatize for PT and get things moving.

Because of my Mom dying and some other personal things, this entire project has been delayed for six months. And if it wasn’t for the encouragement (and a little tough love from my wife), I probably would’ve delayed some more.

But it’s out, sent to less than 100 people, but it’s out, and today and for the next few days, I’ll send The Flock out with a personal note asking people to sign up for the email and to send it to a few of their friends.

I’m banking on enjoying doing this . . . by this I mean discovering new art and sharing it. I also mean enjoying sharing the process of creating art (writing a novel) and creating this company (posts like this). The goal, as always for me, is to entertain and to make someone’s life better, including my own.

I don’t know if I’m off to a good start. I just know it’s a start, and that’s enough for the time being.

Happy Birthday, Pinecone Turkey. May you live long and prosper.
